Classtalk®Ceilingnet System

For installation in any Classroom or Lab (drop ceiling required). For use with TI-83, TI-85, TI-86, & TI-92 Calculators. Installed above drop ceiling. Expandable system includes ceiling fixtures with pull-down cables, networking hardware, wiring, teacher's software, classroom license, manuals, instruction videos, and a 1 year warranty.

Classroom or Lecture Hall Network

Floor-mounted systems for use in rooms with fixed seating arrangements, classrooms and labs. Use with TI-83, TI-85, TI-86, TI-92 Calculators. Expandable system includes wiring, mounting brackets & hardware, network adaptors, optional portable podium/cabinet, teacher's software, classroom license, manuals, videos, 1 year warranty, help in planning the installation, and preparation of a customized Classtalk-compatible seat map for our lecture hall. We supply a kit that you can install yourself. For an extra charge bE will also provide an installation consultant and training courses. Basic version is for technically competant customers who do not need help planning their network installation and wish to provide their own serial (telephone-type) wiring nd fixture.

The Basic version is for technically competent customers who do not need help planning their network installation and wish to provide their own serial (telephone-type) wiring and fixtures.

Alternate Systems quoted on request.* In all configurations up to 4 students may share each device, but the more network ports in the system, the less sharing is required. Please consult bE staff for combinations of devices and ports, that have been found to work well in different educational levels and contexts.

Teacher's Computer

Macintosh running System 7.1 through 8.5 with available serial port, 16Meg RAM, and extra video card (to support overhead projector display).

Alternate Systems quoted on request.*The cost of a video card depends on your Mac. It can range from $80-$250. Also, Blue G3's require a GeoPort -$49. In small Classrooms you may want to project to a TV., to do this you will need a scan converter -$100-$150.

Student Desktop Devices

We can work with distributors to provide Classtalk-ready devices to your department or bookstore (with preloaded-software, cable, and manual). For various reasons (obsolescence, maintenance, theft, initial purchase price) it is preferable for students to own their devices. A buy-back program through your college bookstore may facilitate such a policy.
